what we do

AFRICAN BAT CONSERVATION (ABC) conducts applied Research, Conservation and Education to bring bats to the conservation agenda and conserve bat populations in Africa. We work in partnership with the University of the West of England Bat Conservation Research Lab (UK), The Department of National Parks and Wildlife Malawi, Bunda University and Lilongwe City Council.

We work inside and outside protected areas and have a Conservation Research Centre and Lab in Lilongwe city and field research camps in Kuti Wildlife Reserve, Kasungu National park, Mulanje Mountain and Vwaza Marsh Wildlife Reserve. Click the buttons below to learn about our work.
