Urban BAT Research and Conservation Assistant

January 2017 start for 8 months +

African Bat Conservation conducts research on bats in the urban environment of Lilongwe as part of or Urban Wildlife Project. We conduct bat monitoring and research (mist netting, roost surveys and bat box programmes) in Lilongwe and community outreach visits to respond to calls for assistance with human-bat conflict, providing advice and practical human-bat conflict mitigation. We are currently recruiting for an Urban Bat Research and Conservation Assistant based at our research office in Lilongwe, to conduct the field research and outreach in partnership with our community outreach workers under the supervision of Dr Emma Stone. This will require experience and maturity, as well as an interest in human-wildlife conflict

Bat research intern - liwonde national park

November 2016 start for 8 months +

We are currently looking for a Bat Research Intern to assist us in our data collection and field research in Liwonde National Park. Your primary role will be to conduct bat acoustic and fecal diet analysis, but you will be able to assist in night time field work including harp trapping and mist netting.

Field Fleet Mechanic and Logistics Coordinator

Feb/March 2016 start for 6 months +

Conservation Research Africa are seeking applicants for the position of Field Fleet Mechanic and Logistics Coordinator to service our field research vehicles based in our research camps in Malawi. This is a full-time voluntary position (in-country expenses partly covered) responsible for maintenance, repair and servicing of project vehicles, procurement, logistical support to field operations and programs, and oversight of contractors and construction projects.

Field Research Assistant *Position filled*

ABC are recruiting for a voluntary Field Research Assistant to assist the team in all aspects of field research work in and around Liwonde NP, including harp trapping, mist netting, acoustic recording and roost surveying. This will require field work at night and in the day and the candidate must be willing to work and be based in remote environments. The post offers an excellent opportunity for career development for a researcher who is interested in applied conservation biology, bats and human-wildlife conflict.
